Ahhhh, what a long day yesterday was. Long as in the amount of games that were played under one roof. Long as in the list of CDBA folks playing in and watching the action.

The action tipped off at Noon with RYAN STOREY's Olivet Eagles taking it to Greenville. RYAN played well and finished with 3 pts. He managed to get the trey ball to fall for him in the Breslin! RYAN says that he'll have 2 more games there-the semi & final games in March.

I have to say that the award for being in the Breslin the longest goes to Mr. & Mrs. STOREY and SHANE. They were there from about 11:30am until close to 10pm.

KEVIN WHITE was there all day scouting players for Albion College, he even let me sit at the Press table with him for 2 games. I had a seat between he and Central Michigan Asst. Lamar Chapman.

DAVID "Shaq" CULTRA & KORY WAGONMAKER played in the 6pm game for Mattawan. They faced Okemos with highly touted Johnny Jones.
Mattawan lost by 8 pts. SHAQ had 6 pts, and KORY put in 10.

Everyone stayed to watch the last last game-5th- of the event. Detroit Country Day vs. Benton Harbor. Names like Omar Thomas & Alex Legion of DCD; and Wilson Chandler, Rodney Alexander, & Justin Webb of BH.
This game had the most action as Benton Harbor showed why they're #14 in the Nation.
Those in the crowd who'd never seen Chandler play left the Breslin as believers!
BH won by 14, and yes Alexander had as many dunks as he did at the 2nd Parchment open gym-5-, but Chandler had people just simply saying "WOW"..... He totaled 27 pts, but it was the smooth manner that he went about things. It appeared as if he didn't miss any shots. I haven't seen Chris Douglas-Roberts play, but if he's the #1 player in the '05 class, he must be very, very, very good if Wilson Chandler is #2.
I was sitting with BRYAN HORN & JASPER BIBBS and I've never been around guys who are pretty good players in their own right, talk of another player close to them in age to the fact that they used his performance to WANT to work much harder than they already do! Folks, that's MAD RESPECT.....

JASPER says that in 2 yrs, Chandler will be a pretty good 2-guard in the NBA.

We had so much fun in the stands, watching the action, and talking about the Summer. We told 4 different versions of SHANE's missed dunk on Monday-all in fun. It was also cool to watch so many players not only from our program, but players that we've played against over the years-alot in '04.
I was having so much fun in the stands that Mrs. Storey turned and said to me that she's "never heard me laugh so much..." I said to her that she didn't sit close enough to our bench during the Spring & Summer, ha,ha.

We all enjoyed just being around each other. We "showed some love"..... It was a great day to be in the CDBA.>was that corny?<
Maybe in the future, we can get our own private box???? >smile<
